Bill Bourne with Eivør
In the spirit of collaboration, homegrown talent Bill Bourne and Icelandic songstress Eivør Pálsdóttir share more than just the stage. Multiple Juno winner Bourne is a sensation on the international roots scene and Eivør’s sensuous vocals in several languages are the perfect complement to Bourne’s country roots style. The pair has collaborated on several projects including the 2004 album “Eivør” and Bourne’s most recent release “boon tang” (2007).

Instruments collide spawning an original mixture when Canadian guitarist Doug Cox is joined by Indian virtuosos Salil Bhatt and Ramkumar Mishra. Under their “Slide to Freedom” (2007) project, Cox’s resonator slide guitar gives a metallic flavour that balances the deep richness of Bhatt on the Satvik Veena and the warm pulse of Mishra on the tabla drums. Blues and Indian flavour fuse, not compete, in this distinctive combination.
