Mark Rubin's
Austin-based Rubinchik's Yiddish Ensemble has been praised by noted
clarinetist David Krakuer as “something uniquely
Texan. Still Jewish…really Texan.” Their now decade long study of
Ashkenazi Diaspora dance music has been noted by established musicians
who have utilized the ensemble as their own. Michael Alpert,
Henry Sapoznik and Steven Greenman have all
used the Rubinchik’s as their backing band at festival appearances.
