Regional Tastes - Southern Italy!

Italy is home to some of the oldest wine regions in the world. Wine is a popular drink in Italy. Grapes are grown in almost every part of Italy, with more than 1 million vineyards under cultivation. Each region is proud of its carefully tended, neatly pruned vines. As far as generalizations can be made, Italian wines tend to be acidic, dry, light-to-medium bodied, and subdued in flavour and aroma. Because of these characteristics, Italian wines are, in general, a better accompaniment to food than they are beverages to be enjoyed on their own.

Vine and Dine brings you 'Regional Tastes' at Prairie Ink in McNally Robinson where we will be discovering the wine regions of the world. We will focus on one wine region and we'll learn about the wine, food and stories that bring the region to life!

This event is designed for anyone who enjoys wine and would like to learn more about where it comes from and the regional varietals and differences. 6 quality wines will be tasted during the event accompanied by two or three traditional light dishes of the region. Participants will qualify for discounts on cookery, wine and travel books of the region at the event too!
